Emmerdale Art Director Jo Baker has been in the Emmerdale Studio Experience for the past few weeks working on some exclusive paintings for our attraction. The Emmerdale Art Director is responsible for many of the paintings and artwork seen on the show, including those in Cafe Main Street and most recently Ashley's memorial stain glass window. Bringing a unique blend of technically proficient work and a flair for the creative, Jo's work is a testament to the exceptional talent and contribution - amongst others - that has gone into creating Emmerdale.

Jo’s extensive 21-year long career in the film and TV industry allowed her to develop her ability as a painter while working as a Standby Art Director for Andrew Sanderson on Heartbeat then as a Designer for Robert Scott on Emmerdale in later years. Her skills were encouraged and cultivated, and the culmination of this has been present on our screens ever since. From children's TV to primetime viewing, Jo has added her aptitude for design to many popular ITV shows.

Jo has a long history with Emmerdale and ITV - and harbours knowledge and experience working both within the show and within ITV.

Check out the time-lapse of her working on one of the key pieces – a colourful rendition of the famous Emmerdale sign. Her artwork can be seen on the walls of our café, the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing drink before or after your tour. So, why not pop in to come and see them.
